Last week, we reached the sombre milestone of 100,000 Covid-19 deaths in the UK. Every death is a tragedy and leaves behind a bereft family, but it is evident some communities have been hit harder than others.

With a new national lockdown imposed, once again, we must now stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives.

As of today, Warwickshire has moved into Tier 4 along with neighbouring authorities in the West Midlands, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire.

Statement from Nadhim Zahawi MP (updated on 9th December):

“I remain extremely disappointed that Warwickshire is in Tier 3, in particular because of the effect this is having on our hospitality, tourism and performing arts industries who have already been through so much this year.

Unfortunately, we are now seeing rapidly increasing rates of Covid transmission across the country. This is already being reflected in hospital admissions and sadly deaths.

Following on from the preceding week, Nadhim visited further businesses on Friday 16th October to hear about their experiences during the pandemic.

On Friday 2nd October, Nadhim visited a number of businesses across the constituency to hear about their experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic, learn about the ways in which they have adapted, and take their feedback about the support the Government has given to businesses at this time.

Nadhim visited LineClenze, a locally founded business, on Friday 18th September to learn more about the their products.

On Friday 18th September, Nadhim met with representatives from two local transport initiatives.
