On 2 July, Stratford-on-Avon MP, Nadhim Zahawi visited the historic Garrick Inn.
The Vaccines Minister was given a tour of the building, which dates back to the 1400s, by the managers, Chris and Lynette, as well as the CEO of Greene King, Nick Mackenzie.
The visit took place as the country races to get vaccinated and, during the visit, Nadhim had the opportunity to chat with the Garrick team and discuss some of the challenges currently being faced by businesses, specifically the hospitality sector, as well as the range of financial measures the Government has introduced to support our recovery.
Commenting on the visit, Nadhim said,
“The hospitality sector, which is so important to Stratford-on-Avon, has been hit especially hard by the pandemic. Pubs like the Garrick are the lifeblood of the community. As we build back better, people across the country want to breathe life into our high streets and promote local enterprise.”.
“I have every confidence that, as we unlock, the constituency’s hospitality and tourism sectors will bounce back better than ever, and I very much look forward to returning to the Garrick once the remaining restrictions are lifted.”
