To mark the channel’s move to free-to-air today, and to financially support artists during the coronavirus pandemic, Sky Arts has commissioned a number of pieces by several landscape painters featuring scenes from various parliamentary constituencies.
One such piece was by Alice Boggis-Rolfe, a Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year finalist, depicting Stratford-upon-Avon’s Holy Trinity Church and the River Avon. Nadhim met with Alice and was presented with the painting this week.
Commenting, Nadhim said “I was delighted to meet Alice this week and be presented with her fantastic painting. Making Sky Arts a free-to-air channel is a great move to further democratise the Arts and make them more accessible, something that can only be of benefit to the industry and all those working in it during this difficult time”.
