Update from Nadhim Zahawi MP

Coronavirus testing

On Friday, the Government reached its target of 100,000 coronavirus tests per day by the end of April.

Tests can be booked here: https://self-referral.test-for-coronavirus.service.gov.uk/test-type

Any worker, essential or otherwise, who needs to leave home to go to work, and anyone over the age of 65, is eligible for a coronavirus test if they have symptoms.

Demand is high, so please try again later if you cannot book a test at one particular time.

Top up to small business grant funding

The Government is providing an extra £617 million to Local Authorities to top up the current Small Business Grants Fund and the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants Fund. More information can be seen here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/top-up-to-local-business-grant-funds-scheme

There are businesses in Stratford-on-Avon, notably some B&Bs and guesthouses, who for various reasons have not been able to qualify for the grants so far.

This boost means Council like Stratford District now have further funds at their discretion to help businesses who have been ineligible up to now.

Businesses who think they may now be able to benefit should follow developments on the SDC website: https://www.stratford.gov.uk/
